It's been almost three weeks. Three weeks of living on my own on this island. Three weeks of jogging in early daylight under clear skies and unpolluted air, of swinging in hammocks without a care, of reading books while listening to waves, of strangers' smiles as they pass your way.
It's strangely peaceful here-- as if there is a being keeping the evil at bay. Well I guess that's why it's called "The City of the Living God".
Paradise is what this place should be called, instead of Palawan. It's simply heaven-- it's simply home! The people here are very kind and they seem so contented with their simple lives. I'm quite happy here too. I mean, who wouldn't be? This island is blessed! Blessed with good soil, beautiful tourist spots and decent(if not cute) guys. Seriously, I've seen more cute guys here in just three weeks than my entire life at Cebu! And they don't have disgusting attitudes either, which is quite new to me since Cebu is filled with men who seem like they've never seen women before! I truly appreciate Palawenyos' manners so much. It seems like the only men who act like ignorant monkeys are those who like ones.
But if there's one thing that makes Palawan less than perfect then it's this extreme heat! In the downtown areas where big establishments block the wind, the heat is unbearable! But I'd take the heat over pollution any day. And Puerto Princesa, Palawan has none, luckily.
To add to the list of good things in Palawan is that there are no homeless people, street kids or homeless dogs(at least none that I've seen so far!). It's like any bad thing that's discovered here, gets evicted right away and only the chosen ones with pure hearts get to live in this place. And I feel like one of them! I am a chosen one who gets to relish in one of God's greatest islands and I am filled with so much gratitude at that.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be busy with college life for a while, so new posts will be rare. But I'll update for sure. I just don't know when.
Have a great week!
